Valentines Day weekend for my Journal

It would be unfair to only tell about Monday's happenings so I will tell all the great things that happened all weekend.
Our ward had a Valentines Dance for the Adults, and though it was just a casual dance, I felt like getting all dolled up and so I did. The dance was a blast, but because Booth was the DJ and had to be to the dance early there really was no time to take pics, sorry:( Booth was an amazing DJ and even found plenty of time to dance with me. It was a great night. Saturday was kids day we had 9 kids at the house, 4 mine and 5 cousins, it was crazy and fun. Sunday was totally my day of rest, I am so glad for Stouffer's frozen lasagna, it is much easier to rest when you do not have to prepare dinner:). By Sunday night I had the energy I needed to get ready for the big day, so I made some sugar cookies, frosting, home made valentines for each of my Valentines, and a treasure hunt for each of the kids to find their Valentine. They had a lot of fun:). Then as a family we went to a funeral of a ward friend who was such a good example to me of enduring to the end and being someone that the lord could count on for anything he asked "the lord can depend on me" is how she lived her life. She is missed.
For dinner I made Stromboli yummy yummy. For family night we had a talk about V day and how it relates to the Gospel how it is not just a holiday to get and give Valentines, but that it is a day to show love to all those we love, this is the first year I realized that valentines day was much much more then a romantic holiday. Valentines day is a day to show love, because Jesus did say love everyone. To illustrate the lesson Booth gave me my Valentines day gift, flowers, sees chocolate, some cute pants and ... a love song, he sang me a love song that he wrote for me, and oh it is so sweet, I wish I had an mp3 of it so I could listen to it all day long:).
Then we had a dance party with all of daddies newly acquired DJ equipment we rocked out with the kids till bed time. Then when the kids went to bed I got to eat my Chocolate, hear my song again and spend a lovely evening with the one person I love MOST. Oh what a blessed life, what a nice Valentines weekend.

Sound awesome. Our lives are truly blessed, and the more we see the gospel around us the better it gets. Love you, and thanks for calling Derrick. He had a root canal and his birthday/valentine's was a bit sad because of it.

Em, I was meaning to comment about your V-Day. What a great way to celebrate!! I LOVE the idea of having a grown-up Sweetheart's dance for the stake. they did one every year for ours in Oregon. It was so so nice...getting gussied up and fancy was only the beginning!
