This has been a great summer, I went to Lake Powell for the second time last week and it was great. Our first trip was with my hubby's brother's family, it was fun lots of good food and the kids got to spend a week with cousins they do not see a lot, fun.
This last week was a real treat because we got to go with out our kids. We took a hand full of kids in our ward to LP for a week. This meant lots of help putting camp up, cooking, cleaning, I did not have to sunscreen anyone but me, I did not have to help anyone eat, get dressed go to the bathroom...I was mom free for a week, and really just got to be a teen again. There was lots of wakeboarding, hotdogging, water polo (hardcore fun) camp fire games and a nice night away with my hubby one of the nights.
There was our fair share of craziness, tents almost flying away one night, we slept on our tent not in it. our boat prop hit a rock, we put a new one on and hit another rock, hit a major wind storm in the middle of the lake, and came home to a ez up braking...but even with all the craziness it was a blast. I really liked hanging out with the youth and the break from being a mom. I look forward to when my kids are that age, teens are so fun. My kids are great now and I love life now, I just also know I will love when they are teens.
Yeah for Lake Powell!
